About the Client

I was recently hired by Martin, the bride’s brother, for a bilingual wedding reception in need of a professional and very good Bilingual DJ and MC. Martin called me up and explained to me what he wanted, what his sister expected from the DJ and I gave him a quote and was able to make it happen for them. For this wedding, I never actually talked to the bride and groom, I was only in contact with Martin, so that was a little different but I think Martin Did a great job of communicating to me what they wanted.

The Veranda Venue is located at 1839 Old Diboll Hwy, Diboll, TX 75941

Introduction to the Couple and Wedding Vision

The vision for the wedding and the reason they booked Elegante Entertainment were:

• They wanted a bilingual DJ
• They wanted their guests to dance a lot
• They wanted to do their first dance on a Cloud
• They wanted to have the Cold Sparklers for their special dances
• They wanted the DJ to respect their Music lists
• They wanted easy planning for their wedding reception.
• They wanted a DJ that was not from the area to bring in a different atmosphere

The Role of Music in the Wedding

Music was very important to this event. I did receive a few playlists from Martin, the brother of the bride. They gave me a good general idea of what they wanted played throughout the night. For Dinner, they did have a mariachi, which was Mariachi Viajero Dallas, of which I was able to record a few songs for you guys to check them out.

The audio is not the best since I was behind them and used the camera mic. But you should still get a good idea and besides, I would definitely recommend them to the people of Diboll, TX.

Songs Played at the Wedding in Diboll TX

These are Most of the songs played during the night, are the songs that I played through my DJ Software, Serato. I did play two or three from Spotify on a second laptop, so those were not saved on this playlist.

Challenges Faced and Solutions Implemented

There were a couple of challenges, number 1 was buying the dry ice for the dancing on a cloud early enough in the morning to start my 2-hour drive to Diboll Texas. Luckily, there was a place open at 9:30 am, so I was able to just leave my home, buy the dry Ice, and be on my way directly to Diboll TX.

The Dance floor was Huge, so dancing on a cloud was a potential issue if not done correctly.

Another challenge was no communication between myself and the bride and groom. I was only in contact with the bride’s brother, so that added a small layer of disconnect.

A Minor challenge, but one that I’m used to, is not being able to take a helper, like my daughters, to help me with the dancing on a cloud, so I had to do it by myself. The challenge was that I was up on a stage, so it took me a few seconds longer to start the dancing on a cloud.

These were small challenges, which I was easily able to overcome. The venue had great wifi, so I was able to accommodate all music requests, as you can see in the video of the dancing posted below.

Special Moments and Highlights

There were a few special moments.

• The Grand Entrance was full of energy from the bridal party
• The Dancing on a Clouds was perfect, plenty of some for their first dance even though it was a large dance floor.
• The Cold Sparklers Added to the Grand Entrance Ambiance.
• The Sound System and Lighting was perfect for this size of a venue

So there was a lot of dancing throughout the night. This was a very typical Mexican Wedding where the bride and groom are second or third-generation Mexican Americans.
