Springs Katy Wedding Reception Overview

I Love going to the Springs Venues. They are open early, easy to load all my equipment, and very well kept. The Springs Venue in Katy is no exception.

The Venue is Not Located in Katy but instead, it’s located in the City of Brookshire. 4999 Buller Rd, Brookshire, TX 77423, to be exact.

The Springs Venue has a very appealing rustic look and is surrounded by nature’s beauty. Trees, quiet landscapes, water flowing, and just pure wedding tranquility.

For events, these venues are perfect for Medium to large-size events. This particular event held approximately 150 guests.

The Elegante DJ Setup

Our setup for this event was very clean and minimal, you can’t see it anywhere, but there is an RCF 1,500-watt RMS Subwoofer hidden within our setup. You can’t hear it but if you play this audio through any headphones or your Home Audio system, you’ll hear the Bass! Us Mexicans and Venezuelans LOVE bass and Clean Audio.

Venezuelan and Mexican Wedding Reception

The guest’s backgrounds were mixed with Venezuelan and Mexican, so as the DJ I was given free rein to work with the Mexican music as well as a playlist provided by the bride and groom to incorporate some of the modern music that Venezuelans enjoy to dance.

They did prepare music for La Hora Loca, and usually, when this happens I take a look at the songs to see which I know and which songs I don’t know or never heard of. I’ll then listen for a few seconds the ones I’ve never heard to get a taste of the songs. As DJs, we have to learn to distinguish between songs that are danceable and songs that will not be the right choice. We can still be wrong, so I always keep an open mind at an event. If someone comes up to me and requests a song that:

1. I’ve never heard
2. Is on the playlist
3. I thought wouldn’t work
4. Then, and only then, I go ahead and play it.

Why, because, I have two things going for that song. 1, it was on the playlist, and 2, a guest requested it. , I’ve never heard of that song, so that doesn’t mean that I shouldn’t play it. More often than not, it will be a song people in the group, know and love. So Yes, I play the songs, given those 2 conditions.

In an email a couple of days before the wedding the bride sent me this:
