Planning a successful wedding takes some knowledge. For the do-it-yourself person, the only way you can acquire that knowledge is through reading and trying. Here are a few good articles online that will help you understand some of the ideas behind a wedding. This will be very beneficial, especially if this is your first time planning a wedding.
Here are 3 Tips on how to properly use the internet to help you find vendors, plan your wedding, and get creative ideas to decorate your wedding reception.
Now, I myself, rely on the internet for almost everything. If I want to find out some suggestions for where to place the first dance, when to do the cutting of the cake, when to announce the bridal party, the most popular songs played at wedding receptions, and just general information that will allow me to become a better Disc Jockey and Master of Ceremonies.
Use the internet to get a Sample Wedding Itinerary. You can use mine if you’d like, it’s basic and easy to follow. Or as this post suggests, use the internet to find different ideas, different ways that the wedding itinerary can be organized. Use google and search for:
“Sample Wedding Itinerary,”
“Sample Wedding Schedule,”
“Order of Reception,”
“Organize Wedding Reception,” and/or
“Wedding Order of Events.”
I personally liked, WeddingReceptionSample Itinerary, Weddings Galore -Wedding Itinerary, and Sample Wedding Itinerary as good sample itineraries for you to begin planning your reception. Some even include ideas for the ceremony.
(TIP: If you are too specific, for example “How to Organize a Wedding Reception,” you will limit your search results, and will either find what you want right away, or have a hard time finding exactly what you want. Google is funny that way.)
This month is my birthday…. YAY!!!! (09-25 for those of you wondering… )
Well September is a slow month in this industry, mainly because of back to school, preparations for the upcoming holidays and so on. I only have 1 Quinceañera this month and it is at the end of the Month (September 29th, 5 days after my birthday). However, I have met up with Gina, the quinceañera’s Mother, and discussed the music she wants played at her daughter’s Quinceañera Reception.
This Month, the new song by Soulja Boy - Crank That (Soulja Boy). It includes a great dance step to it, which was demonstrated to us in the September Meeting of the Houston Chapter of the American Disc Jockey Association. The dance steps were demonstrated by a dance group who I will find out their name and website and post it here later. I don’t have their business card.
I actually got it requested at two different events in August; My August 5th Wedding was the first time I heard about it, and on my August 18th Quinceañera. This song can be found on the September Rhythm Radio Issue of Promo Only, track #13 and it is radio edited for content.
So what are the Popular Quinceañera Songs of September 2007?
Mobile Beat is a magazine for Mobile Disc Jockeys and they organize a yearly conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
DJ Intelligence is a service that a lot of DJ’s use to keep track of their customers. If you have seen the “Check availability” forms such as the one on DJs of Houston, than you know what I am talking about. There is a section in that long form that allows you to request your favorite songs, or the songs that you want played at your reception. Well that list is saved to a central databased, ran by DJ Intelligence, and at the end of the year they created this list. So you know that these songs were requested to Professional DJ Companies by Brides and Grooms like you.
