This past week I got a request for an event at the Hodge Podge Lodge, wanting to dig up some old photos to show my clients I found a whole lot of photos backed up to my Google Photos Drive and I wanted to download them and share them with the rest of the world. Google Drive will have more Videos.

About Hodge Podge Lodge
Hodge Podge Lodge, located in the heart of the Historic District of the small town of Montgomery, Texas, combines historic elegance with its own unique eclectic twist. This bed and breakfast were originally built in 1854 are not home to a gorgeous event space and quaint bed and breakfast.

History
Hodge Podge Lodge was originally built in 1854 for Richard S. Willis, Melros. It has wide plank flooring — some of which remains in the house — four bedrooms, a story, and a half structure. This house was well known in the town of Montgomery and during the Civil War. When housing was hard to come by, Melrose opened its doors to those in need. The home was also known as “The Old Irion Place” after a man named Dr. John L. Irion, a surgeon of the Confederate Army, began living there.
In the 1960s, the Waldrop family took over the home and renamed it “Cathalorri” in honor of their two granddaughters. When they were living there, they worked to restore the house and bring it back to life. This home did not become known as Hodge Podge Lodge until 2012 when the Weems family opened the doors of the renovated home to the public and turned it into a space for weddings and events as well as a B&B. These caretakers added the brick courtyard, round patio, and pavilion.
The venue is now owned by eff and Mistie Angelo, who continue to work to preserve the home’s history while still adding some new additions such as the Redwood pergola, concrete aisle for the brides, and a photo lounge and renovated the open-air pavilion.
