As we begin the new year we are starting strong, already having provided our DJ, Photo Both, and uplighting at over 5 events this year, we have had 3 weddings, 1 2016 Quinceanera and 1 corporate event.
2016 is a great year so for.
Our blogging has also increased a little bit, I have 2 blogs Top 2015 Requested Songs and a New DJ Review this year. This is a strong start to 2016 along with a very strong end in 2015, we are able to provide our services to some great people these past few months.
The First 2016 Quinceanera
This past Saturday was our very first Quinceanera of 2016, and it was a blast. A lot of dancing and a lot of fun for the guests.
The not-so Grand Vista Event Venue in Pasadena
The venue, one which I would NOT recommendfor parties especially Quinceaneras or Weddings bringing in a band, for various reasons, the main one is that the police will come and shut down your party if you can hear the volume at 50 feet outside the reception area. The place is https://www.facebook.com/TheGrandVista/ and if you read their negative reviews (UPDATE 2.27.2017: The Grand Vista has removed their FB Page), including mine, you will see that this place has a history of calling the police on their clients as to bring down the volume of the music. No explanation, other than keep down the music. END RANT
And the party was a huge success with a lot of dancing, the dance floor was packed all night long with a great combination of modern music to some of the classic latino songs. All in all everyone had a great time, I even got a text on Monday from the father of the Quinceanera thanking me again for helping them create a fun night for them.
Our music varied and was perfectly timed to go from genre to genre without losing a lot of dancers due to the changes in music:
Overall, this was a great event, with a lot of dancing and a lot of people enjoying and celebrating the night for our lovely quinceanera and her family.
I even did some live snapchats from within the event: Snapchat me at: simplyfrank77 to join us in our next party!!
The family was very close and very positive, just by meeting them you could get a sense of how great their family values were. That’s important because you, as a wedding vendor, rarely see the whole family at the initial and every other meeting that you have with the clients…
Well on my previous post I provided pictures of the uplighting at the Nassau Bay Hilton for the Quinceanera, and although the pictures do a good job of providing a view of the elegance that these lights add to any event, I think video is the best way to portray that elegance and to get a great essence of the feeling that you get from attending an event where up lighting is provided.
So here is the reason the Quinceanera’s Father was speechless at the end of the event…
DJ Liability Insurance covers a DJ for any damages a member of the public may be awarded as a consequence of injury or damage to them or their belongings caused by the DJ or his/her equipment. It also covers legal costs & other expenses to do with defending any claim.
In short, the liability insurance covers the DJ in case of an accident caused by his equipment. With so much equipment there is a chance that someone will trip and fall and seriously get injured. Nowadays, you don’t know if that person is going to turn around and sue you, the person that invited him to your party. Without the DJ’s liability insurance, there is a chance you will have to pay for those costs.
FHP Entertainment is one of the few DJ companies in Houston that carries liability insurance. Not very many venues in Houston require for the DJ to carry liability insurance. One that does is Ashton Gardens, in North Houston. They will not allow any vendors to go and do business there without liability insurance. If your DJ or any other wedding vendor not insured and does not get a third party certificate for Ashton Gardens, they will not allow them in there. We are fully covered to be able to perform and entertain there.
So, don’t only ask your vendor if they have Insurance, ask to see the insurance certificate and make sure it’s valid and not expired!
I’ve compiled a list of all the reception halls, or venues, that I have entertained (DJ’d) at in the Last 2 years. Some of these reception halls are hard to find online and you will have a hard time finding them if you do a search on google. It has taken me longer to find their information online than it has to make the list.
