Top Wedding Venues in Houston – Reviews, Part 2
Ok, let’s continue reviewing some of top wedding venues that I have visited over the last year, or since the begging of 2008 to be more exact.
7. Rice Lofts
The Rice Lofts is a beautiful place to hold a wedding reception. Located in the heart of Downtown Houston, it is an ideal place to hold a wedding reception, right in the middle of Houston. The setting is just absolutely gorgeous! Lovely chandeliers illuminate the room beautifully and provide for a romantic setting!
6. Augusta Pines
Augusta Pines is another beautiful golf course with a club house that is able to accommodate your wedding. Located north of Houston, Spring Texas, and just 3 miles south of the Woodlands Mall. The place is beautiful and the scenery is filled with green fairways. The place has a lovely staircase that can be used for many things. As you will see in my pictures, I used it to extend the conga Line to give the photographers and videographers something they could work with. I even got a few good shots!

5. Sweetwater Country Club
Another beautiful golf course with a beautiful banquet room available for weddings. As they state, “The essence of Elegance,” which is exactly what you get when enter the banquet area. An elegant setting filled with beautiful colors and add to that the Elegant Linens and decorations, you get a great combination of elegance and style.

4. Aston Gardens
Ashton Gardens is a one-stop for weddings and Ceremonies. They have a beautiful chapel and just as beautiful is their reception area. They are surrounded by trees and when you drive in, you feel like you are going out in the country, and it’s just off 1960! It’s located in Spring Tx so it’s not too far from Houston, it’s actually right in the outskirts of Houston. This year they were awarded the Knot’s 2008′s Pick, The Knot Best of Weddings. That’s Pretty impressive!

So there are some of the best wedding venues in Houston Texas and its surrounding areas. And again, these are only the ones I’ve visited, since I have not been to every venue, or let’s say, I was not at every venue last year, I cannot include those in my reviews.
The venue says a lot about the personality of the bride, venues are usually selected either because they are Elegant, they are “the place to go” or have a your wedding, or they simply see the place an just fall in love with everything.
I always ask brides why they chose the venue, the answers range from, “Are you kidding me? There is no other place I would have my wedding!” To “I simply fell in love with it when I walked in” To “I attended a wedding there and I loved everything about it.” Whatever the reason, it is usually a good reflection of who the bride is. Which is a good thing!

Top Houston Wedding Venues Visited in 2008
Each year I have the pleasure of visiting many of the most beautiful Wedding venues in Houston.
Since I am a 1-Man show, I don’t visit every venue, every year. However, I have been to some really beautiful venues in the course of my time as a Wedding DJ, here in Houston. Based on all the venues I visited in 2008, here are my top 10 picks for Wedding Venues In the Greater Houston Area. If I took pictures at the venue, I will include a link to a post I might have submitted in the past.
10. Pine Forest Country Club
Pine Forest Country Club is a Beautiful Country Club located in the West side of Houston, Near Clay Road and Highway 6. Nice Features about it: Has a large Dance Floor; I love the staff, they are great to work with, as a wedding professional; beautiful columns around the dance floor; Lovely stage for the DJ and looks beautiful correctly illuminated; Great view of the golf courses; Multiple Rooms available to have a Pre-Reception / Cocktail Hours; 2 Stories.

9. Courtyard on St James Place
The Courtyard on St. James Place is Located near the Galleria Area; in the West side of Houston. It is a very cozy and stylish wedding venue. The Nice features that I liked about it; Large dance floor; it has and elevated area overseeing the dance floor and the rest of the venue; Good Layout; The staff was very accessible and easy to work with; coordinator was on top of things.

8. Houston National Golf Course
The Houston National Golf Course is Located in Northwest Houston, only about 5 minutes from 290 and Barker Cypress. I love Golf Clubs, they provide with a lot of green scenery and beautiful pictures, their club house is brand new there are not many people that know about it, so it’s a good time to start planning your event there. The reception area is very large, has access to a beautiful view of the outside golf courses. Staff was very helpful, for this one I will have to put a link to the photographer, D. Jones, since he took the most amazing photos of the night.

Pine Forest Country Club | Houston | DJ Wedding Pictures
This weekend was the third time I visit the Pine Forest Country club here in Houston for a wedding and as in all weddign I love to take pictures of the people enjoying themselves to the music that they selected to hear.
This was a bilingual wedding so everything had to be done in both, Spanish and English. It’s a little bit more work for me, but in the end it’s worth it since every family member and friend can understand what’s going on and what the man with the mic is saying. In the end nobody feels left out.
LED DJ Lighting / Up LIghting / Decor Lighting
I recently purchased some LED Up Lights / Decor Lights / Architectural Lights or however you want to call them so I took a few (6) to kinda try them out ant dress up the room a little. So below are those pictures. The colors were Green and white so I set up the LED lights behind the DJ Stage to match the colors and below is the results:
The bride really fell in love with the decorative lighting and even said if she know about it beforehand, she would have added more lights to it. I thought the same thing too, like mayb lighting up the columns and the various special bridal tables.
Dancing and Fun pictures at Pine Forest Country Club
Here is how the night went, Pretty much everyone had a great time dancing and visiting with friends and family. The Bride and groom seemed to enjoy themselves all night.
It was a medium size crowd, about 125 guests or so, so it was hard to really fill up the dance floor. It was actually full towards the end when we played the upbeat latin music and the english dance music. Event he photographers got in the action towards the end, it was good to be able to take some pictures of them having a great time with the bride and groom.
This was my first out of 3 weddings for this past weekend. It was a very intersting weekend and my body is still recovering from all the hard work that went into it, but all weddings were real fun.

Well the open house is coming to an end. It was a successful out come. I want to thank the brides that came out to meet me and actually see the equipment and lighting options for their wedding and what we can offer for their very special wedding day. So thank you brides, I hope you have a better understanding and it took a lot of the guess work out of who your DJ will be and what we will provide you on the day of your event.
