DJ at Gates on Main thoughts
Being a DJ at Gates on Main: It’s always heartwarming to wake up and see that you have a review from a previous event. It’s even more special when the review occurs the morning after the event and it’s the first thing the bride does in the morning!! It makes my heart smile. It means our client appreciates our work and is a person who is grateful for what we’ve done for him or her.

Being a DJ at Gates on Main is no easy task, however, our 15 year experience and our love for our client allows us to be able to create happy memories through the art of playing music and engaging everyone’s attention on the event in hand, whether it’s the cake cutting, first dance, bouquet and garter toss, or any other formal event going on that night, we make sure it comes out perfect.
For this wedding we were hired to provide DJ at Gates on Main and (MC) Master of Ceremonies Service, LED Uplighting, and two stock patterns on the dance floor…
The Uplights and Dance Floor Wash
With over 15 wireless LED up lights, we were able to fill The Gates on Main with some color and ambiance. It was even present with the venue lights completely on. They did not have to dim house lights in order for you to see our beautiful up lights. The up lights stood out more after the lights were dimmed, as evident in the photos below.
The Ceremony DJ at Gates on Main
The Ceremony and the Reception were both held at The Gates on Main, a lovely venue at 912 W Main St, La Porte, TX 77571. The Ceremony Setup was beautiful, with a large wall of flowers behind the bride and groom as they said their I do’s.
This particular event was a Perubian Groom and an all-American bride, so choosing between the right latin songs and english songs was very important. Both sides were great dancers so everyone wanted to be on the dance floor. It helps that both sides participated, no matter what the style of music was, but it was still my responsibility to try to mix it up and change it up at the right time.
The Reception DJ at Gates on Main
We started up with some of the Latino songs that were on the list. The first song was Elvis Crespo – Suavemente, which was one of the groom’s favorites and we continued with 5 more Latin songs. The dance floor was packed!!
But we had to switch over to some english music, country, oldies, line dances, to get our American guests into the party..
The whole night went like that and it was over in a snap. The bride and groom enjoyed themselves, and Lettie, the manager at The Gates on Main (Facebook link) was very pleased to have referred us to their event. It was a great night for us and the guests of Frank and Jessica.
