This is the second of a two series (up to this point) “How to” that Mr. Guy Kawasaki has written about great customer service. I have just taken the time to read these two articles and I must say, there were some great ideas there that had not come to my attention.
The first one was keep customers in the Loop. As a Disc Jockey, it is essential that you keep your customer on top of things and it is essential that if something does happen at an event that you find a solution (two to three at best) and present that solution to your customer.
Most of the time, I see a lot of finger pointing and nobody takes the responsibility nor do they take the time to find the best possible solution to the problem. Finger pointing and Fingering the pointer are the second and third ideas that are great to avoid.
I invite you to read these two articles as well as all others that Mr. Kawasaki has offer.

JoyfulEventsStore.com has a list of the songs they recommend. I personally have not seen some of those songs used. The traditional songs are there such as:
And there is one that is also well known which is “Quinceañera” By Los Yonics. These, like I said, are the traditional songs used for the formal part of the presentation.
Now you can use that list to get “creative” and spice things up in your Quinceañera. For example, you can use Gloria Estefan’s “Conga” and have your court of honor dance their way in as they are being presented or if your family and guests are more Tejano oriented, you can use “Celebration” by Kool and the Gang. This would cause your guests to be very enthusiastic, clapping, and dancing as the Court of Honor’s is being presented. That would be something different, fun, and memorable.
So get Creative and only you know how you want your Quinceañera to turn out. There is no set way in how you can do your presentation and introduction. Go to a few Quinceañeras, see how they do it, and use that as a guide to do yours. That is, by far, the absolute best way to get it done correctly
As far as the unformal dances, such as a Cumbia, Merengue, Bachata, Reggaeton, and any other Genre that is used to dance. There is no limit there. Use songs that you like and that your Court of Honor can dance to.
You have options when it comes to your song selection. Some Quinceañera celebrations that I have been used as little as 3 Songs and Some have used up to 9 Songs. The Ideal would be:
Introduction of the Court of Honor
Introduction of the Quinceanera
Father Daughter Dance
Waltz with Escort of Honor
Special dance or Special Dances (Cumbia, Merengue, Bachata, Reggaeton, or Various Songs Mixed together)
This should get all the fire power you need to start planning the songs for your Quinceañera. Thank you for reading this and I hope it helps you get organized and that your event is as enjoyable as you plan it.
Every person organizing a or their Quinceañera has questions about how to go about it. The most requested information that my website visitors want to know is:
If you have any specific questions on how to organize your Quinceañera, use this post to ask me and I will gladly answer them for you. For example, if you want to know about photography, video, or Venues.
