Wedding DJ Weekly Journey sharing successes!Today is a beautiful day, its nice and sunny… and cool. I love this weather and we don’t get much of it down here in Houston.

I went jogging last night and it was also pleasant weather to do some exercise. Boy am I feeling the burn today :) But hey, no pain no gain right. Well In this case I hope is loss.

I’ve decided to drop some pounds and I’ve tried weight lifting, crunches, and push ups for about 8 months and only lost 10 lbs. as of last night. But the good thing is that they have stayed off while still eating bad, unhealthy food. Pizza, my wife’s home cooking with a lot of grease ;) , fast food, and so on. So my next step is to add cardio and I’ve chosen to do running over purchasing exerciser equipment for a few reasons.

First, I get to enjoy the outside weather, the peace and tranquility of a park, the feeling of freedom, and just getting outside to breathe some fresh, well as fresh as it gets for Houston, air.

Second, it helps with the day to day personal challenges (Positive thinking) because it helps clear the mind and see things in a totally different way. What do I mean? Well, while jogging, or running you tend to think a lot, more than when you are at home or worse, work, because there are not interruptions, no deadlines, no criticisms, no distractions… nothing. It’s just you and mother nature. So you can see a challenge with a fresh mind and analyze it until you can find a solution, or solutions, to it.

Lately I’ve had a lot on my mind, and one of those things is whether to move my office to a new location or stay where I am now. Keeping my lovely wife happy with the increased of DJ Events this month. Trying to find more quality time to spend with my family. Leaving my full time job to pursue my love, my passion for Entertainment and helping people have a wonderful time at an event they will only get one chance to enjoy. And it’s scary to take that leap of faith, to just do it. I’m prepared physically and emotionally, but not financially. But that is still in the decision process.

Back to the topic..

Finally, I decided to jog outside because, well it’s cheaper. There is no equipment to buy and besides, who wants some oversize piece gym equipment in their home, their living room. And what is my option, to face it to the window so that I can see all the cars that pass by in front of my home while watching MTV? It does not sound as rewarding.

OK, so today I feel great, I feel energized, I feel like I can take on the whole world!!!

At the same time I feel calm and almost ready to make that big decision.

However, I can use that energy, enthusiasm, and emotions towards this weekend’s wedding. It is this Saturday coming up, October the 20th, in Sugar Land Texas. It’s going to be more of an interactive wedding, where I will be doing a lot of interaction with the guests and with the Bride and Groom. They’ve chosen to do fun activities during dinner and during the dances.

We will do the Conga Line, the YMCA, putting the garter back on the guest, the shoe game, and then some of the typical DJ interaction activities. So it’s going to be a great reception.

For their dances, the have chosen the follwing:

Bride and Groom’s First Dance:

Bill Withers
Lovely Day

Bride and Father Dance:

Heartland
I Loved Her First

Groom and Mother Dance:

Boyz II Men
A Song for Mama

Cake Cutting:

Adam Sandler
Grow Old With You

Bouquet Toss

Cyndi Lauper
Girls Just Want to Have Fun

Garter Removal and Toss:

Danny Elfman
Main Title Theme

Exit Song:

Eric Clapton
Wonderful Tonight

Well, I have a great feeling about this upcoming wedding, but then again I have a great feeling about every wedding. The song choices do fit the bride and grooms personality and their activities do also. I am prepared mentally for a great time and I know they expect me to perform at my top level. So I will be back on Monday to share my experience!

Have a beautiful Friday and as always,

Happy Planning!
