Wedding Trend: Entertainers Serving Champagne

1. Immersive Entertainment Experiences

Immersive Entertainment Experience is a very popular trend. With Immersive Entertainment, you engage your guest’s senses through multiple means. One way to do this, especially for a wedding, would be to have a roaming magician during the cocktail hour or the dinner service. Roaming Magicians can help entertain your guests by performing magic tricks at their table or in a group setting. A second way to incorporate immersive entertainment would be to have dancers or performers who interact with the guests.

Additionally, you can make the event more immersive by incorporating a theme such as “1920s Gatsby,” “Vintage Carnival,” or “Enchanted Forest.” Immersive experiences are memorable and offer guests something beyond the usual wedding traditions. They keep guests entertained and engaged, making the event more enjoyable.

2. Live Music with a Twist

Live Music with a Twist is where live bands and musicians offer more than traditional wedding music. They may be a cover band for one particular artist, for example, I was the DJ at a wedding, where they had a Prince Cover Band, and 90% of the songs the band played were nothing but Prince songs. The DJ Then played the rest of the traditional wedding songs. People enjoyed themselves.

Some bands mix genres such as Jazz with Pop or Classical with Rock, offering a twist to the standard music choices. Other performers, such as live DJs, will create mashups of genres on the fly. There is even a Trend where a live musician such as a drummer or a saxophone player plays as the DJ plays regular pop music.

Live music is dynamic and engaging, and when combined with unexpected results, it becomes even more captivating for the guests. This trend appeals to couples wanting their guests to experience something unique and lively.

3. Silent Discos

Silent Discos are dance parties where the guests wear wireless headphones and choose from multiple channels of music. You can have one channel where you have soft music and another channel where you have all your dance hits the DJ is Playing for the dance floor. You simply allow your guests to choose if they want to dance that day or just sit back and relax and enjoy the music.

Silent discos are a fun and new way to keep the party going without disturbing the neighbors, especially at venues with noise restrictions. They also bring a unique experience for guests to control their music preferences.

4. Cultural and Fusion Entertainment

Cultural and Fusion Entertainment is something, I as a Bilingual Wedding DJ, do on a normal basis. Bilingual DJs are very important to weddings, especially here in the Houston Texas Area.

So what exactly is Cultural and Fusion Entertainment? Where we Celebrate diverse backgrounds through music, dance, and performances. Recently, at a Wedding, I was the DJ for, they brought in a Mariachi, which is a traditional fusion, and in addition, for the last 15 Minutes of the Mariachi, they had Valet Folkloricos dancing to the traditional Mexican mariachi songs. That was the first time I saw something like this. In a way, it was a Fusion, within a fusion.

As weddings become more inclusive and multicultural, celebrating cultural heritage through entertainment is a meaningful way to honor the couple’s backgrounds and offer guests a chance to experience something new.

5. Personalized Entertainment

Personalized Entertainment is tailoring the wedding to reflect the couple’s story, preferences, and personalities. I’ve done plenty of Star Wars-themed weddings where the bride and groom Enter and Exit the Wedding Ceremony and Reception to Star Wars songs. I’ve had a couple of weddings where the Groom wants his groomsmen to be presented in the same basketball players are presented

NBA Styled Introductions Starting at 5:45

Another popular way to personalize your wedding reception is to do the Shoe Game, where the guests get to find out a little bit more about the bride and groom. Personalize it even more by incorporating the anniversary dance, where you invite all the married couples to the dance floor and dismiss them by the years they’ve been married so that at the end of the song, you have the couple that’s been married the longest.

Personalized entertainment creates a deeply emotional and memorable experience for both the couple and their guests, adding a unique touch that resonates with everyone.

6. Social Media Integration

Social Media Integration is a trend where you provide QR Codes, or even Hash Tags (#weddingoftheyear or #maywentperez) to organize the wedding pictures that all the guests took.

Live Streaming is another way to use social media integration. By Live streaming, people who are not able to travel to the wedding will be able to watch the event live, on a social media page.

Interactive photo booths, such as roamer photo booths. This could have been added to the first one, as it is Immersive, however, I decided it fit best into social media as it is media that can be shared with everyone. The roamer photo booths travel around and the guests can take as many pictures as they’d like and get a branded photo that they can share on their social media with the appropriate hashtag.

Social media integration allows couples to connect with a wider audience and share their special day with everyone, creating a broader sense of community and engagement.

7. Special Effects

Special effects are a modern entertainment trend. Special Effects such as Cold Sparklers, Dancing on a Cloud, CO2 Guns, and even Confetti Canons are very popular to highlight special parts of the Wedding. Cold Sparklers can be used for the Grand entrance of the bride and groom as well as their first dance and at the end of the night for their sendoff. Dancing on a cloud is used mainly for the bride and groom’s first dance and now even can be offered for the bride and groom’s last dance of the night. CO2 Cannons are typically used for the dance, during a la Hora Loca or a very hype set of popular Pop songs. Confetti Canons can be used also for the bride and groom’s first dance, mainly at the end of the dance. Additionally, they can be used during the dancing as well as the Hora Loca.
