Hoda Kotdb is sticking to tradition and will have a maid of honor at her wedding to fiancé Joel Schiffman.
“It will be Hala, my sister,” revealed the 56-year-old co-host “Today” on the NBC morning show on Thursday.
Kotb and Schiffman, 63, originally planned to have a destination wedding in November 2020 but had to postpone their wedding when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out.
Now the broadcast journalist isn’t so sure what her big day will look like.
“You know what is strange is that you plan something and you set it all in stone and then everything was uprooted. And now we’re planning it again and there’s something strange, ”she said. “We say, ‘We’ll do it. Should we just do it this summer? Should we wait? ‘ We do not know it. “

Knowing what her wedding song will be, however, Kotb says in February that she and her future husband will be dancing to Van Morrison’s “Someone Like You”.
The couple got engaged in November 2019 after dating nearly seven years.

“We took our usual vacation. In the end we had a little dinner on the beach and finished dinner, ”Kotb recalled at the time. “I ate the churros, licked the bowl … he said some nice things and got on one knee and said, ‘will you be my wife?'”
They are parents to two adoptive daughters, 3 year old Haley Joy and 2 year old Hope Catherine. Kotb announced in October that they have plans to adopt a third child.
