Brady’s Landing Pictures Wedding DJ Venue Review

I had the pleasure of returning to Brady’s Landing on Sunday June 28th 2009 for the wedding reception of Nelda and Marvin Itzep.

Nelda and Marvin are very down to earth and simple people. Both of them had the biggest smiles any person can have and they just looked absolutely happy together. Every time they were together you could see and feel the love they had for each other, it was truly a pleasure to be able to be of service to them.

All the wedding professional present there were able to see that love, capture it and help me provide Nelda and Marvin with an amazing night that they can remember for the rest of their happy lives together.

One of those professionals was Photographer Julie Wilhite, from Julie Wilhite Photography who was very professional about everything and stayed in contact with me the whole time.  She made sure I knew if they were going out of the room to, sitting down to eat, or anything that might involve them missing the formalities of the wedding. Again, very professional and their pictures are just some of the most amazing photos that I have ever seen; Very vivid and colorful.

The staff at Brady’s Landing is always so accommodating, make the DJ feel welcomed and are very helpful when pointing out where to go what time to set up and even offered me some water early in the wedding reception. The room captain came up to me and presented himself and offered to be of assistance. That is always nice and not all room captains have that initiative. Most of the time I have to go looking for him and asking different people who is the person in charge of the room.

As a wedding professional, I truly recommend both Brady’s Landing and Julie Wilhite Photography.

Westlake Club Wedding DJ Pictures – Reviews

Westlake Club DJ Uplights Monogram Gobo DJ in Houston

I had the opportunity to visit the Westlake Club back in March. It is a beautiful facility located in the west side of Houston.

It is a beautiful club located on the seventh (7th) floor and decorated with windows thought the entire hall. The style and feel of the club was traditional with a warmness to it that eludes elegance.

All the reviews on the website, WeddingWire.com about the Westlake Club are 5 stars. People love Jennifer Keefe and her great staff and I could not agree more. They were very accommodating and very pleasant to work with. I would love to return to the Westlake Club any day.

The Tuscany Villa in Katy Texas is a beautiful place to have a wedding reception. The staff there is fantastic, very helpful and very concentrated in keeping their clients happy and well taken care of.

I’ve been there 3 times in the last 6 months and I am truly astonished at their positive attitude and their work ethics.

Below are some pictures of the place and we were doing the DJ as well as the Decor Lighting (Uplights) and the Monogram Gobo Projection.

As you can tell by the pictures, even with the sun out and the lights on, you can create a great mood in any place just by adding the up lighting and not to mention personalizing your event with your Monogram on a wall or even on the dance floor.

I have a previous video on Youtube and on this Blog with a different event that has the monogram on the floor and the uplighting set to a different color (blue). They were also taken at the Tuscany Villa in Katy Texas with all the lights on and since this the set up was actually done the day before the wedding, there are no pics or video from the wedding day itself as the lights were dimm. 17 Wedding Tips that Brides Can Use to Have the Best Wedding Reception in Houston

I get tons of traffic to my youtube page. I have 3 videos with well over 20,000 views (Quinceanera DJ Houston Video #1 - 21,179 views : DJ Houston Wedding Mix Video # 2 - 32,826 views : DJ Houston Sonidero Mix Video # 3 – 43,560 views and all but 1 with over 1,000 views.  As a result, I get lots of people that want to subscribe to my videos and whom save my videos on their favorites.

Today I logged into my DJ Youtube account and got a new friend request. Of course, I checked out his videos and wanted to see what he was all about. He’s a cool guy that does stage lighting for big venues, concerts, fights and things of that nature. I don’t know why he would want to be a friend with a little ol’ DJ like myself, but obviously he liked something I had on my videos.

On his favorites I found a video Titled : Best Wedding Reception Tips which had over 5,685 views. And if you can get a video to be viewed more than One Thousand Times, then you got a really good video that people love.

I decided to share this video with my audience because the tips on this video are so helpful and easy to implement, I just thought to myself, this video needs to be seen. Brides as well as wedding vendors can definitely improve a wedding reception if they follow these 17 tips, and they can all be easily implemented by anyone.

Let me type these tips out for you so that you can just copy and paste them into your word document.

  1. Don’t put the older guests next to the speakers or the dance floor.
  2. Don’t cram your entertainment out of the way.
  3. A party should end when it shouldn’t end.
  4. A ‘too small’ dance floor is better than one that is too big.
  5. Darker is better than lighter for dancing.
  6. Keep the exit doors closed. 6a. Brides and Grooms should not stand near the exit door.
  7. Nicer places (such as country clubs with great views) actually make it harder for people to dance.
  8. The bar should always be in the main room.
  9. If you are going to shut the bar down, do it during dinner.
  10. Happy music keeps things going.
  11. Respect the musical opinions of your local professionals (us dj’s).
  12. Your wedding vendor should eat with the guests.
  13. Consider not doing a Dollar dance.
  14. People tend to remember the beginning and the end (I’ve gotten some referrals just on my MC’s opening speech).
  15. Traditional events or speeches should be done before dancing, including formal pictures.
  16. Do all you can to arrange your rehearsal dinner 2 nights before the wedding.
  17. If you have to cut corners, don’t compromise on your entertainment.
