Wedding Planning on the Intertnet, Houston Bilingual DJs

Here are 3 Tips on how to properly use the internet to help you find vendors, plan your wedding, and get creative ideas to decorate your wedding reception.

Now, I myself, rely on the internet for almost everything. If I want to find out some suggestions for where to place the first dance, when to do the cutting of the cake, when to announce the bridal party, the most popular songs played at wedding receptions, and just general information that will allow me to become a better Disc Jockey and Master of Ceremonies.

  • Use the internet to get a Sample Wedding Itinerary. You can use mine if you’d like, it’s basic and easy to follow. Or as this post suggests, use the internet to find different ideas, different ways that the wedding itinerary can be organized. Use google and search for:
    Sample Wedding Itinerary,”
    Sample Wedding Schedule,”
    Order of Reception,”
    Organize Wedding Reception,” and/or
    Wedding Order of Events.”
I personally liked, WeddingReceptionSample Itinerary, Weddings Galore -Wedding Itinerary, and Sample Wedding Itinerary as good sample itineraries for you to begin planning your reception. Some even include ideas for the ceremony.
(TIP: If you are too specific, for example “How to Organize a Wedding Reception,” you will limit your search results, and will either find what you want right away, or have a hard time finding exactly what you want. Google is funny that way.)

< ?php if (@include(getenv('DOCUMENT_ROOT').'/ads/phpadsnew.inc.php')) { if (!isset($phpAds_context)) $phpAds_context = array(); $phpAds_raw = view_raw ('zone:9', 0, '', '', '0', $phpAds_context); echo $phpAds_raw['html']; } ?>

  • Find Local Vendors. This one if applied correctly will save you driving time, money, and your sanity. OK, maybe I’m a little overboard, but imagine that you are sitting in traffic on a hot Houston Day, as you drive to meet one of your vendors across town (in Houston that can take hours) when there was another vendor that sells the same service 5 miles from your home or work.
Here is where the search engines come extremely helpful. Using the power of Google, let’s say you are looking for a service such as mine, a Disc Jockey. You would go to Google.com and type Disc Jockey or DJ and it will give you hundreds or results from across the world. Well, you can’t use most of them because you live in Houston, so now you type the words “DJ in Houston” (Not to brag but did you notice I am one of the top ranked DJ’s in Houston #2 :) ) and you get results from all over Houston. BUUUUUT, you want results that are close to your Home or place of work, so you type in “DJ in Houston, 77066” or whatever your zip code is and Google will magically find all DJ companies that are located around you first, then all the ones that are further. Pretty neat, right?
    Try:
    Elegant Linens in Houston,”
    Wedding Cakes in Houston,”
    Wedding Venues in Houston,”
Wedding DJ in Houston,” (Again I am ranked high ;) ) etc…
    • Use Image Search and Video Search to find Creative Wedding Ideas. Yes, if you are all out of ideas on how to get creative for any portion of your wedding planning, just use Google’s image search and you will find thousands of ideas. For example searching google for “Sample Wedding Ideas” images that pertain to that term. Try “Creative Weddings,” “Wedding Decorations,” or “Wedding Receptions,” or any other phrase you might want to search. You can even search under the videos section for “Creative First Dance.”

Using the power of the internet you can save time, money and find creative ways to enhance your wedding reception. One added benefit is that you will improve on your reading skills…

    Happy Planning!!!!

    1. […] There are times when there is no wedding coordinator. Although, it is not the DJ’s Job to coordinate a wedding reception, the DJ is someone who has been to many weddings, has an understanding of how a typical wedding reception runs, and usually shares the control and responsibility even when there is a wedding coordinator present. So it should be obvious that he should have the common courtesy in helping the bride and groom coordinate the wedding. I know that most DJ’s do not agree with this because it’s extra work, it’s something they don’t charge for, and it really is not their responsibility. Most DJ’s are just there to play the music and help the people that want to dance have a great time. But, if they want the bride and groom to be 110% satisfied, they will take on the extra responsibility and help with what they know. Now, this is not to say that wedding coordinators are not necessary, because they are, they are able to do a lot more than a DJ and they are usually worth what they charge. I would encourage people to hire a wedding coordinator, but if the budget does not allow, then I usually provide some insight and share my Sample Wedding Itinerary. […]
