Lately I have been working out almost every day.
I find that I can work longer without running out of breath.
Why is this important for a Wedding DJ in Houston to be healthy?
The Humidity and the drastic changes in weather at certain months. Right now as I write this, it is August of 2015, the weather outside shows a warm 95 degrees Farenheit, at 3:59pm, which for Houston in August is really really low, most days of this month we’ve seen temperatures of over 100 degrees. Add to that the Humidity which reaches upwards of 50% and you have one humid sunny Houston Day.
When you walk outside from your AC controlled Home or car, it feels like you got blasted with the a death ray, like the ones you see in some kids cartoons. And that death ray is locked on you. God forbid you didn’t park under a tree, because your car will be 10 times hotter and muggy. By the time you walk from your front door and pull out of the driveway, you are almost guaranteed to start sweating.
for us DJ’s, we have to arrive super early to a venue, and take several trips from our automobile and into the venue. I assure you, by that time we are drenched in sweat and exhausted from the blistering hot sun above.
Most of the time we have to allow an extra hour from the time we are done setting up and cleaning up our work area, until the time we pretty up into our tuxedoes or suits.

1. We stay healthy.
A Healthy DJ is a better DJ. If we show up to your event with aches and pains or loss of breath, chances are we are not going to do our best at your event. A common cold can change the voice of the DJ and he will be sniffling all day long over the microphone. We also generally eat healthier leading to greater health.
2. We recover faster.
We are used to running, lifting weights, and are all around a lot stronger because we use our muscles almost every day. Picking up a few speakers and a few cables will be a walk in the park for us. So by the time we start the wedding we will be like new once again. Our recovery will be much quicker and we will be 100% energized and enthusiastic about getting on with the event formalities!
3. We are happier.
Exercise releases endorphins! Endorphins trigger a positive feeling in the body! Happy people are generally a lot more easier to deal with than grumpy or depressed people.
4.We can participate.
We are more likely to get out on the dance floor and motivate the people or participate in the teaching of the line dances since we know we can do it without the worry of running out of breath in the middle of the dance. Besides we love to be active and we generally love to dance!
5. Better representation.
Healthy people are people who can represent you better all around. We have a sharp mind, are usually positive and optimistic, have a clear mind to tackle any obstacles that may come the day of the event. Not to mention we can wear a suit much nicer! 🙂
In conclusion, hiring a healthy dj is a very good idea for your wedding. Believe me, the last thing you want is for your DJ to run out of breath after introducing your entire wedding party and very faintly introduce the main reason we are all there in the first place; the brand new Mr. and Mrs.
